韓国Samsung Electronicsは4月13日、Blu-ray（BD）／HD DVD両対応プレーヤー「BD-UP5000」を今年の年末商戦に投入予定であることを明らかにした。 新製品はBDのインタラクティブ機能「BD-JAVA」、HD DVDの「HDi」を備え、BD／HD DVDの両フォーマットを再生することができる。
